By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A 4.9 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was reported this morning in Guatemala, Prensa Libre said.
The Guatemala National Institute of Seismology, Vulcanology, Meteorology, and Hydrology (INSIVUMEH) said that a 4.9 magnitude tremor was felt at 2:29 am on Tuesday. The epicenter was located 51 miles from Retalhuleu on the Pacific Coast.
The National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters (CONRED) and municipal authorities in Guatemala had not reported any damages or injuries.
Over the last few weeks at least 13 earthquakes have been felt in Guatemala, Insivumeh said.
