By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Should fully vaccinated people get infected with COVID-19, they are less likely to spread the COVID-19 than unvaccinated people said Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, at a White House press conference, according to the Business Insider.
Fauci said the fact that many Americans are not getting vaccinated concerns him a lot.
Studies from Israel confirmed that fully vaccinated people who get infected with COVID-19 typically have much less of the virus in their systems. That supports Fauci’s assertion that the fully vaccinated people who contract ‘breakthrough’ cases of COVID-19 have less of the virus in their nasal passages hence they are less likely to infect others.
Fauci said that vaccination is a powerful tool in avoiding hospitalization should a person get infected with COVID-19, particularly with the Delta variant which has become the leading variant worldwide.
