By BBN Staff: Galen University has announced that it is looking for a full-time Finance & Collections Officer.

The university is currently accepting applications for the position, which carries the responsibility of supervising its Collections, Accounting, and Student Financial Services.

Duties associated with the post include: supervising and participating in student collections as well as cash flow and profit & loss projections; prepare monthly financial reports; supervising payroll processes and related activities within the university system, and facilitating the annual audit. The Finance & Collections Officer is expected to be a team player in the commission of those duties.

Requirements for the post include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field; extensive bank or credit union experience in collections; knowledge and working experience with QuickBooks Accounting System and Excel Spreadsheets; two to three years of experience in a supervisory role in a business office, or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with university faculty, staff, administrators, and governing boards; experience in operational and strategic planning, policy development, and financial analysis; the ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in written and oral format to administrative staff, professional colleagues, governing boards, and the general public in large or small group settings.

Remuneration for the post will be based on experience.
