By BBN Staff: Officers of the Belize Police Department reportedly fired warning shots at an angry crowd moments ago.
Officers of the GI3 (formerly GSU) reportedly responded to reports of an illegal party in the vicinity of Cesar Ridge Road. The officers arrived to disperse attendees, who then became outraged and started hurling cement blocks and pint bottles.
The officers called for backup but the crowd became so hostile that they had to fire warning shots in an attempt to pacify the crowd.
At least four people have been detained following the incident.
This is a developing story.
