By BBN Staff: Police and Customs officers made a large contraband bust in San Victor Village, Corozal District, this weekend.
Police explained today that officers visited a house and removed a bed to find a manhole which was the entrance to a storeroom that goes down some seven feet.
Inside the storeroom were 16 cases of Tecate beer, 25 cases of Superior beer, seven cartons of Miami menthol cigarettes, four cases of big cola, one case of 2.5-liter bottles of Sprite, one case of 2.5-liter bottles of Coca Cola, Del Valle juices, black beans, and two sacks of flour.
The homeowner was detained by police and had to sign a receipt acknowledging what was found in his house; however, no charges have been brought against him at this time. Police say the determination on whether or not he will be charged will be made before the day’s end.
This is a developing story.
