After 50 years, Milwaukee Bucks celebrate their 2nd NBA title, beat Phoenix 105-98 in Game 6

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a point for every year the Milwaukee Bucks went without winning an NBA Championship leading the Bucks to a 105-98 Game 6 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

50 points for 50 years. From 1971 to 2021. But now the long wait is over and Milwaukee is celebrating wildly.

The Bucks collected the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy as NBA Champions and Antetokounmpo won the Bill Russell Finals MVP award. How else could it have been?

“I want to thank Milwaukee for believing in me,” Antetokounmpo said. “I’m happy to have been able to do it with these guys … We’ve got to do it again.”

Giannis said Khris Middleton pushed him every day.

“It’s easy to come and work with guys like these,” Middleton said.

Jrue Holiday who just joined the Bucks this season was also pivotal down the stretch.

“This is such a blessing doing it with my brothers, man” Holiday said. “There’s nothing like it. They embraced me … they believed in me. It was a team effort.”

“It means the world … Coming here was the best thing ever happened to me,” said Bobby Portis.

And while Milwaukee celebrates, for the Phoenix who have never won the NBA Championship, their wait continues.
