“Vaccination campaign in full swing in Orange Walk” says Belize Tourism Board

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: While people were lining up in San Jose-San Pablo to get vaccinated on Wednesday morning, others were also doing so in Orange Walk Town at Central Park and at the People’s Stadium said the Belize Tourism Board (BTB)

The BTB has joined the Ministry of Health and Wellness in the national vaccination campaign and on Wednesday they traveled North to Orange Walk and surrounding villages.

In Orange Walk Town, the BTB joined the Minister of Health and Wellness, Michel Chebat, the Minister of Youth and Sports and E-Governance, Kevin Bernard and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Ramon Cervantes, at the Central Park “to encourage residents to take the vaccine”.

Minister Chebat was joined by Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Deysi Mendez and by Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai.

Minister Chebat reported that over 115,000 Belizeans have already received at least the first dose of the vaccine as part of the national vaccination campaign, the BTB said.

In San Jose-San Pablo, Ministry personnel went from house to house distributing masks as well.

The Ministry of Health and BTB have been on a nationwide campaign to get citizens vaccinated both in the urban and rural areas.
