Vilma Elias strangled to death, post-mortem finds

By Aaron Humes: Coroner Dr. Mario Estradabran reports that murder victim Vilma Elias, 39, of Old Well Road, Ladyville, was strangled to death as well as hit by a blunt object.

After a post mortem examination on the body of Elias this afternoon, he certified the cause of death to be due to manual strangulation, head trauma, blunt force type.

Elias, a babysitter, was found on Monday morning on a feeder road off the Old Well Road partially nude. She had left her sister’s house late the night before on her way home but never made it. Her underwear was found a short distance away.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of her death.
