By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Derrick Chavarria of the 501 Valvoline Cycling Team won the Cano’s Road Rage Thursdays Cycling Race in Belmopan in 52 minutes.
501 Valvoline swept the podium sports with Joslyn Chavarria Jr taking second and Jyven Gonzalez the 3rd spot.
Organizer Tariq Cano Aguilar said the criterium that started at 5:30 am on the George Price Boulevard in Belmopan covered 20.1 miles on hilly terrain. The riders did four laps on the 4.02 miles circuit.
Vallan Symns won the Masters Category followed by Sherman Thomas in 2nd and Ryan Willoughby in 3rd.
Overall winner Derrick Chavarria also topped the Junior Category. Tyler Tejeda finished 2nd.
Nathalie Lovell won the Women’s Category followed by Paulita Chavarria in 2nd.
Cano said the Cano’s Road Rage Thursdays Cycling Race was sponsored by Human Hair Bymar, Westrac Ltd, Cano’s Courier Services, and Belmopan Market Plaza.
Race officials were Chrisbert Berry, Zahir Ayala, Charlie Bernardez, and Adrian Aleman.
