Prime Minister Briceno Departs the Country

The Office of the Prime Minister issued a statement a short while ago informing the public that Prime Minister John Briceño departed the country today, July 22, 2021, on personal leave.

During his absence, Cordel Hyde, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, Petroleum, and Mining, will act as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development.

Prime Minister Briceno is expected to return to Belize on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
