University of the West Indies revises matriculation requirements due to late CAPE Results

Posted: Friday, July 23, 2021. 10:35 am CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: In anticipation of late issue of CAPE results for the 2021 examination session, the University of the West Indies has revised its matriculation requirements, said the Assistant Registrar of Student Affairs (Undergraduate Admissions) at the St Augustine Campus on Friday.

UWI said that the revised matriculation requirements will “allow applicants who have their requisite CSEC subjects to qualify for normal matriculation to the UWI provided that they have passed with Grades 1-4, a minimum of (2) CAPE subjects either at Unit I or II; and are currently registered for Unit I or II.”

UWI said these applicants will receive firm Offer letters once qualified.

However, UWI said that those “applicants pursuing both Units of Cape in this (2021) examination session, the results will be received too late for an offer to start in semester I, 2021/2022. Such applicants will be invited to indicate their interest in admission for 2022/2023, with automatic consideration of the application.”
