Kaya Cattouse is Belize’s best finisher at Lake Bluff, Intelligentsia Cup

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Kaya Cattouse could not make the podium on Saturday at The Northwestern Medicine Lake Bluff Criterium at Lake Bluff on Saturday, July 24 in the 9th Day of the Intelligentsia Cup, but she put in a hell of a ride in the Women’s Cat 2/3 Elite.

At the end, riding for the C-RAY D. Banner Cycling Team, Kaya placed 8th in the Lake Bluff criterium.

“Mi want it bad! Bad like it’s against the law!” she posted on social media after the race.

“You were awesome throughout this entire series K and we have one more day to go let’s finish it strong and have fun most of all!!,” Deandy Ordonez of Ordonez Bike Shop, who rides in the Men’s Cat 4, posted on her page.

In the Men’s Cat 2 Elite, Oscar Quiroz of the 501 Valvoline Cycling Team finished 44th while Wasani Castro of Project BZE did not finish.

In the Men’s Cat 3 Elite, Byron Pope of Westrac Cycling was 62nd. Project BZE’s Jafari Castro and Henry Li didn’t finish.

And in the Men’s Category 4, Deandy Ordonez of Ordonez Bike Shop finished 32nd.

The Intelligentsia Cup closes off on Sunday, July 25 with the William Blair Grand Prix at Goose Island Beer Company, Fulton St. in Chicago.
