By Aaron Humes: An early morning house fire on JR Street, Belize City, could not be contained, gutting the property and its contents.
A white-painted bungalow wooden house belonging to security guard Tyrone Stevens, 40, went up in flames shortly after 6:10 a.m. Sunday, when he said he had left to go out on personal errands. Someone informed him that his house was afire and he called the police.
Fire personnel at the scene were unable to save anything and continue their investigation as to the cause of the fire. Stevens had no insurance and must now estimate the cost of what he lost.
A police investigation continues.
