Ministry of Health and Wellness begins vaccination drive in Orange Walk district

By Benjamin Flowers: Today marks the first day of the week-long vaccination drive scheduled for the Orange Walk District by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Each day, vaccinations will be done at the People’s Stadium from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Ministry notes that all Belizeans 18 years and older are now eligible to receive their vaccines.

Those wishing to be vaccinated also have the choice of either the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.

Last week, the MOHW reported that 43, 482 people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (received both vaccine doses) which pushed the campaign target to just above 50 percent.

The Ministry is targeting 70 percent of Belize’s over-18 population in its campaign.
