Posted: Monday, July 26, 2021. 4:31 pm CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Team JAB comprised of Patrick Williams, Ana Lopez, and Brandon Adolphus on Sunday won the 7.3-mile duathlon relay organized by the Cayo Central Sports Committee headed by Keisha Sutherland according to councilor Zahir Figueroa of the San Ignacio-Santa Elena Town Council.

The J in JAB actually stands for Jody Williams, but it was his brother Patrick who competed. Adolphus said that since it was Patrick’s birthday, Jody allowed him to run in his place.

Team Splash Warriors made up of Fred Usher, Joshua Fuller, and Rossy Guardado finished second.

Two teams participated. No time was taken.

Ana Lopez started the race in front of the Georgeville Community Center and ran to St. Barnabas School in Central Farm.

Brandon Adolphus then ran to the Alexandria Hotel in Esperanza Village.

From there the Patrick Williams headed into Santa Elena, picked up his bicycle at the basketball court, and rode two laps around the Loma Luz Blvd, turning left in front of the Aguada Hotel and ending at the basketball court.

For Team Splash Warriors, Rossy Guardado started out followed by Fred Usher and then Josh Fuller.

The distances were:

Georgeville to Central farm – approximately 1.5 miles.

Central Farm to Esperanza – approximately 2.4 miles

Esperanza to Sta Elena basketball court – approximately 1.6 miles

Bike riding- approximately 1.8 miles
