Bredda O’s Pizza closes its doors today to mourn founder Orin Velasquez

By Benjamin Flowers: The popular pizzeria Bredda O’s Pizza in Ladyville Village is closed today as the business observes the anniversary of the death of its founder Orin Velasquez.

Velasquez was shot to the chest during a robbery on the night of Monday, July 27, 2020 and died of his injury.

Today, the business posted on its Facebook page, “Good morning we will be closed today as it’s been a year since the robbery and death of Bredda O. Please light a candle at 6 to 9 and pray for justice as the killer is still out there.”

Velasquez was laid to rest on Sunday, August 2, 2020, following a memorial service held at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Ladyville.

One of the two suspects, Lincoln Diaz, who was 19 years old at the time, was charged in November 2020 for Velasquez’s murder.
