Sixteen Belizean athletes represent Belize in U-18, U-20 Central American Athletics Championships in Nicaragua

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A 19-member delegation traveled to Nicaragua by road via Guatemala and Honduras on Monday to compete in the 28th U-18 and 33rd U-20 Central American Athletics Championships in Managua, Nicaragua. The Belize team arrives in Nicaragua on Wednesday.

The regional meet which features athletes from all of Central America starts on Friday, July 30, and ends on Sunday, August 1.

Sixteen athletes and three officials, led by BAA’s Executive member Shelmadine Carr, traveled to Nicaragua.

The Women’s U-18 athletes are Mia Sylvester, Gina Tejeda, Jada Logan, and Keely Faux.

The Men’s U-18 representatives are Andre Armstrong, Glenford Williams, Adrian Wade, Josh Crawford, Jahson Logan, Kirk Elrington, and Anjay Bernard.

The Men’s U-20 competitors are Kameron Sainsbury, Kerwin Castillo, Kevin Jones, Mario Vivas, and Christopher Broaster.

Fred Evans travels as coach and Ana Lopez as chaperone.

The Belize Team leaves Nicaragua on Monday, August 2, and should be back home by Tuesday, August 3.
