Caye Caulker businessman robbed at high noon in downtown Belize City today

By Aaron Humes: Robbers struck successfully in the heart of downtown Belize City just after noon today.

59-year-old Mauro Bevans was accosted at the corner of Duck Lane and Orange Street at 12:10 this afternoon by two men.

One was already armed with a gun but relieved Bevans of his loaded 9-millimeter weapon valued at $2,900 before escaping with his accomplice down Duck Lane toward Water Lane.

Police investigations continue.
