Minister of Health and Wellness reveals vaccination card fraud in North

By Aaron Humes: Appearing on Channel 7’s Sunup program this morning, Minister of Health and Wellness Michel Chebat confirmed that the Ministry of Health has opened an investigation, supported by Police, into fraud in the North among nurses distributing vaccination cards.

The program’s hosts announced they had credible information on the practice with which the Minister concurred.

The cards are to be stamped and signed to say you have gotten vaccinated, but these ones only give the appearance of such.

“It is unfortunate. They are doing not only a disservice to the person who is purchasing it, but to the entire nation,” Chebat said. “Anyone who is not vaccinated is exposing everyone else, and so when you do something like that, you are undermining the country. You’re not helping that person.”

The Minister intimated that the fraud costs the dupe $100 or $200, but in the public hospitals it costs up to 46 thousand dollars per patient for treatment of COVID-19, more for private hospitals, and of course, the ultimate price is death.

For those with questions about the vaccine, the Minister advised to go to the medical professionals at each vaccination facility countrywide and ask their questions, to which he promised they would get answers.

In related news, the Minister explained that the choice to move up curfew to ten p.m. from nine was a decision to offer balance with the tourist industry and related occupations – it had already been decided it would be nine before objection. And as for the claim that “COVID spreads in the day as well as night,” the Minister advised that socialization late in the day, especially at establishments disguised as restaurants that open up later as dance spots, bars, and nightclubs which technically remain closed, give more chances for the virus to spread. He gave no indication of relaxation of any protocol for the vaccinated, which number more than 125 thousand now partially and more than 50 thousand completely.
