By Aaron Humes: Police will pursue charges against the driver who crashed head on into a motorcyclist outside a gas station on the George Price Highway Tuesday evening.
Member of the Belize Defense Force Victor Martin, Jr., 45, of Belize City, was driving toward Belmopan around 5 when he was struck by a gray Mazda pickup truck coming from the opposite direction and making a turn into the Mall Gas Station between Mile 45 and 46.
The impact flung Martin across the highway and into bush, killing him almost instantly, and caused his motorcycle to burst into flames.
The driver remains in police custody pending charges.
