By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Eighteen-year-old Sunisa Lee, affectionately called Suni, on Thursday won gold in the gymnastics all-around for the United States at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after world and Olympic champion Simone Biles withdrew from the competition.
Lee found herself trailing Brazilian Rebeca Andrade but was able to overcome her before the last event.
Lee won the gold medal on a final score of 57.44. Andrade won silver with 57.298 ahead of broze medallist, Russian Olympic Committee’s Angelina Melnikova.
