By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A Taiwanese television station is visiting the country to cover several topics, says the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
“A delegation from Taiwan Sanlih E-Television (SETTV), one of the leading broadcasting companies in Taiwan, will visit Belize from July 30 to August 4, 2021 to cover topics such as Belize – Taiwan relationship, Biodiversity of Belize, Belize’s COVID-19 strategy, Environmental Protection and Traditional Mayan Culture, for its top awarding-winning program ‘The Borderless World’,” said the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in a press release.
The Taiwanese Embassy said that on occasion of Belize’s 40th anniversary of independence, the visiting broadcast delegation will meet with Government officials and representatives of several organizations.
SETTV also plans to film well-known tourist attractions, such as the Great Blue Hole, Xunantunich and Cahal Pech to find out more about Belize’s biodiversity and environmental protection programs.
The Taiwanese Embassy said that it believes SETTV can “introduce and promote Belize to its audience and encourage more tourists not only from Taiwan, but also Taiwanese living in North America, to visit Belize.”
The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) said it thanks to Governor-General Froyla Tzalam and Prime Minister John Briceño and related officials for granting interviews to the SETTV delegation and expresses its “staunch support to the relationship between Belize and Taiwan.”
