By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The United States had a hard time yesterday in the semifinals of the Concacaf Gold Cup but in the end prevailed over the invited Asian champs Qatar at a packed Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, advancing to the Final.
A late goal by Jardes in the 86th minute gave the United States the lone goal that would send them to yet another final in the regional competition.
Qatar pressed hard throughout the game and could have gone ahead in the 62nd minute but Al-Haydos missed a penalty kick sending the ball over the bar.
The US will now face off with Mexico in the final on Sunday.
