Another Belizean dies from COVID-19 complications, total deaths nearing 340

By BBN Staff: Belize has lost another patient to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths closer to 340.

According to the Ministry of Health and Wellness, the latest death occurred over the period July 31- August 3.

The new death raises the national total to 338 and adjusts the national fatality rate to 2.37.

From March 2020, when the pandemic first hit Belize, to date 119 women and 219 men have died from complications related to COVID-19.

The Ministry continues to plea with Belizeans to get their COVID-19 vaccine shots, which are now available to everyone aged 18 years and over, at numerous vaccination sites all over the country.
