Was Mayor Trapp bullied by his own councilors?

Posted: Wednesday, August 4, 2021. 11:20 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: The majority of the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Council bitterly opposed having today’s briefing at the Town Hall.

In their letter to the Mayor, they hinted that some impropriety he might be involved in would be revealed if he went ahead.

But Mayor Trapp said he was not bullied. Circumstances conspired for party leader Patrick Faber to be delayed returning to Belize and the opportunity for fired workers to be present.

Colorfully, Mayor Trapp said they should stop “stalking” him, leave him alone, and “go mind your baby” – mind your business.

He reiterated that he can work with them, but their agenda needs not to be one of hate and division but of change and progression.

UDP Vice-Chairman Alberto August clarified that no one has yet to be terminated from the Town Council; the ex-workers here are from Government Departments such as Health and Works.
