By BBN Staff: Kareem Calbert Young, 31, who is facing a charge of abetment to aggravated assault, has been granted bail by the Supreme Court after 22 days at the Belize Central Prison.
Young is accused of being the driver of a motorcycle used to commit the aggravated assault, done with a firearm, against David Secondido on July 10 in Ladyville. Police say they know the person who actually pointed the gun at Secondido’s head, but up to now, that man remains at large.
Young was arraigned at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on July 15 but was denied bail. Today he was offered bail in the sum of $8,000 plus one surety of the same or two sureties of $4,000 each. He is also required to report to the Ladyville Police Station every Friday.
Due to time constraints and the weekend, he will not be able to post his bail until Monday, so he currently remains in jail.
