By Benjamin Flowers: More than 2,000 Belizeans have gotten vaccinated against COVID-19 in the latest round of vaccinations as the Government of Belize (GOB) continues its national campaign.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest vaccination report shows that 2,826, people were vaccinated on August 5.

The latest additions brings the national total for vaccinated people (at least one vaccine dose) up to 137,873. Meanwhile, the number of fully vaccinated people (received two vaccine doses) has gone up to 54,349.

The Ministry notes that the vaccination data includes the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.

GOB reminds that all Belizeans 18 years and over are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. There are several health facilities countrywide accepting walk-ins for vaccinations, appointments can also be arranged at https://vrsa.health.gov.bz/

Vaccinated persons are still required by law to wear face masks in public, social distance, and abide by all other regulations in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
