By Aaron Humes: Investigators in Dangriga say their investigation of the death of 14-year-old Kwame Williams, son of musician Ras Indio and grandson of musical legend Bredda David Obi, is going well, and that they expect to lay charges sometime this week.
Williams was found shot dead on Gumagarugu Road Thursday night while on his way to his grandfather’s house after a run-in with his stepfather.
Superintendent Alejandro Cowo, officer commanding Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB) in Belize City Eastern Division who was filling in for ASP Fitzroy Yearwood this week, said investigators in the Culture Capital found no link between Williams and gang activity and rivalry in Dangriga, nor with any recent incidents in town, and so unfortunately, he appears to have been caught up in a case of mistaken identity.
