By Rubén Morales Iglesias: A father is pleading for help for his baby, Vidia Flowers, who just underwent brain surgery.
“Everyone please keep my baby girl in your prayers. She is critical at the Belize Healthcare Partners, she had massive fluid build-up around her brain causing immense pressure on her brain,” Calbert Flowers posted on Facebook.
“She had emergency brain surgery to install a VP Shunt and it was found she had suffered brain damage, to the extent we are not aware of yet. She has been experiencing different symptoms due to her condition so we are asking for prayers and would greatly appreciate any financial support as this condition is serious and requires a lot of attention only given here at a private medical facility.”
Anyone who can assist may do so through Calbert Flowers’ Atlantic Bank account #211818586 or through a Gofundme campaign started by Vidia’s uncle Jake Allen at https://gofund.me/296ed868.
“Unfortunately, she seems to be rejecting the shunt, and fluid is causing her stomach to now enlarge instead, putting her in a critical state,” wrote Allen on the Gofundme page.
“Vidia’s mother is trying her best to take care of her baby girl as she continues to get medical attention. On behalf of her family, we are appealing for prayers and financial support.”
“The funds will be used for both current procedures that have taken place as well as the next few as the doctors work to find a solution to help save Vidia. Any contributions will help and be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.”
