Over 50 new patients recover from COVID-19

By BBN Staff: More than 50 patients have newly recovered from COVID-19 infection, according to the latest report issued by the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

New recoveries from the virus were split between 22 females and 29 males, bringing the national total for recoveries up to13,777, and adjusting the national recovery rate to 93.9

There were 15 patients still hospitalized due to COVID-19 and six patients are receiving critical care in an intensive care unit (ICU).

The MOHW notes that there are 533 active cases of COVID-19 and another 264 suspected cases under investigation.

The Ministry continues its countrywide vaccination campaign of Belizeans 18 years and older, and advises vaccinated persons that, even after getting vaccinated, they should continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often.
