BEL announces planned power cut in San Pedro for Sunday, August 15, to upgrade system

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: BEL announced a planned power cut in San Pedro for Sunday, August 15, “to conduct system upgrades at the San Pedro Substation to improve the reliability of power supply to the island”.

BEL said the upgrade will be carried out in two zones at the following times:

The North Ambergris area and the area north of BEL Substation will be affected from 6 am to 2 pm on Sunday.

The areas affected will be the entire North Ambergris and portion area north of the BEL Substation to Boca Del Rio Bridge including Pescador Drive from BEL Substation to Sandpiper Street, Seaweed Street from BEL Substation to Deer Street, Jewfish Street, Boca Del Rio Drive, Seagull Street, Laguna Drive, Cormorant Street, Spider Lily Street, Deer Street, Ziricote Street, Dolphin Street, Conch Shell Street, Mangrove Drive, Bonefish Street, and Sapodilla Street.

A portion of San Pedro Town will be affected from 7 am to 9:30 am.

The areas affected will be a portion of San Pedro Town including Barrier Reef Drive, Caribeña Street from Pescador Drive to the beachside, and Black Coral Street from Pescador Drive to the beachside.
