Highest single-day number of reported cases this week, over 109 new COVID-19 infections

By BBN Staff: Today, Belize saw the highest amount of reported COVID-19 cases in a single day for the entire week, with over 100 newly confirmed infections.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ latest COVID-19 daily report, showed that there were 109 new cases, detected from a sample batch of 1,503 tests.

Of the new cases, 51 were female and 58 were male.

The daily positivity rate stood at 7.39 while the country’s national total for confirmed cases now stands at 14,847.

There were no new deaths associated with the virus.

The MOHW is calling on all Belizeans to ensure they follow the protocols in place to minimize the spread of the virus and to say at home unless conducting essential business.

The number of reported cases for this week from Monday-Thursday was 61,79,94,66.
