Ministry of Health and Wellness welcomes new Cuban Medical Brigade with sensitization session

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness on Thursday welcomed the new Cuban Medical Brigade with a sensitization session in Belize City.

The Ministry said the session was held to familiarize the recently arrived Cuban medical personnel with Belize’s health system, according to a statement by the Government of Belize Press Office.

The topics covered during the sensitization session included the Belize Health Information System, the country’s epidemiology profile, vector control, and the COVID-19 situation.

The Cuban medical practitioners are to be deployed to all our health regions countrywide. They will be helping the Ministry of Health “with additional human resources in areas that may be limited at this time.”

The Ministry of Health and Wellness thanked the Government of the Republic of Cuba for their continuous support to the Government and People of Belize.
