Uncle and nephew shot dead at bar in P.G.

By Aaron Humes: Medardo Canelo, 46, and Lawrence Canelo, 33, of Cayo Street, Punta Gorda, were shot to death overnight in the southern town with a woman bartender also injured.

Police say they found the bodies of both men inside Flash Bar and Cool Spot around 10 p.m. while the female, 18, is recovering in hospital from a chest wound.

Investigation suggests the men were counting the day’s sales when they were ambushed by two masked men both covering their faces and head and dressed in long sleeve black shirts and long dark camouflage pants. The culprits fled the scene without apparently taking anything.

One suspect has been identified as police investigation continues.
