By BBN Staff: The opposition United Democratic Party issued a press release this afternoon, extending thoughts and prayers to the Haitian people after Haiti was hit with a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

The UDP notes that the “initial reports indicate high casualties and significant damage” in what the UDP described as “an endless series of man-made and natural disasters”.

The release highlighted that “a little more than one month after the tragic assassination of President Jovenel Moise rocked the Republic of Haiti, again the people of the first independent Caribbean Nation are faced with disaster”.

“We pray that all Nations who have the means to assist in the recovery do so promptly and generously”, ends the release.
