Tillett Bus Line announces increase in ticket prices

By BBN Staff: Tillett Bus Line has announced that effective Monday, August 16, there will be an increase in its fares.

“Due to the increases in fuel prices and other expenditures required for our buses to operate, we had been debating on a solution for us to continue operating. With the Statutory Instrument No. 9 of 2021 implemented whereas buses can only carry 75% of their capacity, we are now forced to increase our prices,” the company said.

The updated prices are as follows:
Orange Walk to Belize: $6
Orange Walk to Ladyville:$5
Tower Hill/Carmelita to Belize: $5
Tower Hill/Carmelita to Ladyville: $4

Belize to Orange Walk: $6
Belize to Towerhill/Carmelita: $5
Ladyville to Orange Walk: $5
Ladyville to Towerhill/Carmelita: $4.

The bus line also asked that evening commuters to villages provide bus tickets when taking the village bus from Orange Walk to others villages to avoid additional charges.
