By Aaron Humes: COVID-19 has stricken a member of staff of the Department of Youth Services (DYS), under the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and E-Governance.

This has forced its office on Magazine Road, Belize City, to close temporarily for sanitation starting today Monday, up to Thursday, August 19.

The means of exposure to the virus is unknown. In-house contact tracing is currently taking place and staff members are being tested, says a press statement.

As the number of confirmed cases continues to rise, DYS reminds the public to keep practicing health measures such as washing hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, wearing a mask, and maintaining social distance.

For additional information regarding this press release, please feel free to contact DYS communications via email at dyscommunications@gmail.com.
