By Aaron Humes: Joseph Panting, alias “Tencho,” 49, and his 13-year-old son were hospitalized following a home invasion on Sunday night, well after curfew.
The elder Panting and his two sons had gone to sleep when they heard someone outside calling for the younger son. Joseph Panting went to answer and met two young men, one of whom he recognized. The man he recognized suddenly opened fire with his firearm, injuring Panting to the left shoulder, then stepped inside after his real targets.
Joseph Panting recovered and tried to block the shooter from his sons, literally taking bullets for them, but the elder son was injured. Both are in stable condition as police seek the shooter, a 17-year-old.
