By Benjamin Flowers: The Ministry of Health and Wellness reported today that three more Belizeans have died as a result of complications connected to COVID-19 infection.
The latest national COVID-19 update shows that the three new deaths bring the national total for COVID-19 related deaths up to 347, with 123 of them being female and 224 of them male.
Belize’s fatality rate has now been adjusted to 2.30%.
Health officials last week confirmed the presence of the more serious Delta Variant of COVID-19 in Belize, which is more transmissible and comes with more severe symptoms.
All Belizeans 18 years and older who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19 are encouraged to get vaccinated.
