Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow awarded Distinction of Honor Medal

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow received a Distinction of Honor Medal from Georgia State Senator Dr. Lester Jackson.

“Senator Jackson is truly an inspiration having served in the U.S. Navy, the House of Representatives for 10 years, and the Senate for the last 10 years,” said Barrow in praise of Senator Jackson.

“I pray to continue to serve the people of Mesopotamia and the wider Belize for years to come as Senator Jackson has done in his distinguished career of service to the people of Savannah Georgia.”

Barrow is on a visit to the United States during which he planned to meet with Belizeans living in the state of Georgia.

“I look forward to meeting with the Belizean Diaspora in Georgia,” Barrow said in anticipation of the meeting.

“Thanks very much to Verlene Pitts and Erica Antoinette for organizing this event. The Belizean Diaspora is extremely important to me and the vision to develop Belize.”
