Leader of the Opposition Shyne Barrow to meet with Belizeans in Georgia on Friday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Leader of the Opposition (LOO) Shyne Barrow is meeting members of the Belizean community in Georgia on Friday as part of his visit to the United States.

“I look forward to meeting with the Belizean Diaspora in Georgia,” Barrow said in anticipation of the meeting. “Thanks very much to Verlene Pitts and Erica Antoinette [Castillo Slaton] for organizing this event. The Belizean Diaspora is extremely important to me and the vision to develop Belize.”

Barrow said he is meeting with the Belizean community during the Belizean Diaspora Breakfast Conversation with him at the Commerce Club in Atlanta from 8:30-10:30 am on Friday, August 20.

During his visit, Barrow has met members of the Georgia Senate including Senator Dr. Lester Jackson who awarded him a Distinction of Honor Medal.

“Senator Jackson is truly an inspiration having served in the U.S. Navy, the House of Representatives for 10 years and the Senate for the last 10 years,” said Barrow in praise of Senator Jackson.

“I pray to continue to serve the people of Mesopotamia and the wider Belize for years to come as Senator Jackson has done in his distinguished career of service to the people of Savannah Georgia.”
