Druewel Jones, nurse of Belize City, is 76th Queen of the Bay

By Aaron Humes: The designate Queen of the Bay, chosen virtually Saturday night from the Belize Biltmore Plaza, is for the first time in years a resident of Belize City, Druewel Jones.

Perhaps appropriately in these times, she is according to promoters Live Events and Designs, a nurse, a frontline worker and inspiration to youth, especially girls.

First runner-up was Karla Godoy of Toledo and second runner-up was Melanie Tillet of Orange Walk. A total of eight delegates participated.

Minor prizes were distributed as follows: Miss Amity – Miss Corozal; Miss Photogenic- Miss Orange Walk; Miss Eloquence – Miss Belize District; Most Elegantly Dressed – Miss Toledo; Most Talented – Miss Orange Walk.

The Queen of the Bay Designate will officially be crowned during official ceremonies for Saint George’s Caye Day on September 10 by predecessor Myra Sibrian.
