Ismael Matura stabbed to death in Corozal Town

By BBN Staff: Police have identified the man stabbed to death in Corozal Town as 29-year-old Ismael Matura.

Official police reports are that Matura was found on Snapper Street with a stab wound around 11:17 p.m. on Saturday. Matura was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital where he died of his injury shortly before midnight.

Matura has reportedly been in an argument with someone while socializing at the corner of Snapper Street and 11th Avenue, over an event that took place at tango 6 at the Belize Central Prison. During the argument, that man pulled a knife and inflicted the wound that ultimately killed Matura.

Police have detained three people in connection with the incident as investigations continue.
