The National Meteorological Service of Belize (Belize Met Service) has issued a flood warning for vulnerable areas due to a tropical wave affecting local weather conditions.
The 24-hour forecast calls for cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms around the country, but with the bulk of showers developing over the southern districts and the coast tonight.
“There is the possibility for flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas, especially over the Toledo district,” the Met Service said.
Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 72 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 65 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.
Winds will be blowing East between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be choppy.
High tide will come in at 10:38 p.m. and low tide is expected to occur at 4:07 a.m.
The sun will rise tomorrow at 5:37 a.m. and will set at 6:13 p.m. The moon will rise today at 6:46 pm and set tomorrow at 6:36 a.m.
