Posted: Monday, August 23, 2021. 10:03 am CST.

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Children 12-17 are being vaccinated with Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines this week, says the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

As it rolls out the vaccination for younger people, the Ministry of Health and Wellness said it encourages all parents and legal guardians to have their children vaccinated.

The Pfizer vaccine has now been given full approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration, which before had only give emergency approval.

The Ministry says the Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses, 21 days apart.

A signed consent from parents or guardians is required for the children to be administered the vaccine.

The children are required to present a valid ID, preferably a Social Security Board card.

The Ministry also said that the children should have breakfast or lunch and they should also be well hydrated before getting the vaccine.

Additionally, the Ministry of Health also said the vaccine is for all children 12-17, so those who are not in school are also welcome to take the vaccine. They should call or WhatsApp 613-0787.
