COVID-19 UPDATE 3: Belize City adds 39 new cases, none in San Ignacio

By Aaron Humes: Belize City continues to be the area of concern on the Ministry of Health’s radar with 39 new cases of COVID-19 in three days, an average of 13 per day.

San Pedro Town added 20 new cases as the Belize District saw 78 of the 141 total cases reported.

There were four new cases each in Caye Caulker and Western Paradise, three each in Double Head Cabbage, Hattieville and Ladyville; and one each in Burrell Boom and Willows Bank.

23 cases were added in Orange Walk, five of which came from Orange Walk Town.

Cayo added 19 cases, none of which was in the San Ignacio/Santa Elena area. The new cases centered on Belmopan, its suburbs and eastern Cayo, as well as Benque Viejo and its outpost of Arenal.

17 new cases were added in the Stann Creek District, including a total of eight in the Independence/Placencia area; 3 in villages in Corozal and just one in Yemeri Grove, Toledo.
