COVID-19 UPDATE: Active cases threatening 1,000 again as 141 new cases added

By Aaron Humes: After 141 new cases were reported over the three days from Saturday to today, Monday, the number of active cases of COVID-19 has jumped again, to 920, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

Two more persons have died, bringing the total to 353.

The 141 total cases represent an average of 47 cases per day against an average 37 recovered per day, a closer ratio than in recent days.

Another 429 cases are under investigation.

Belize has passed 200,000 mark for those tested for COVID-19. 15,556 have caught the disease, about 7.7 percent of the population; 14,262 have recovered, about 92 percent of the population.
