By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) said it is monitoring two tropical disturbances in the Atlantic that have possibilities for gradual development. One just passed the Lesser Antilles and is headed towards Honduras. Should it develop, it could reach Belizean shores.

The NHC said the tropical wave is located over the eastern Caribbean Sea and later this week it is expected “to form a broad area of low pressure over the southwestern Caribbean Sea.”

The NHC said that environmental conditions are favorable for the tropical wave to develop within the next few days as it moves in a west-northwestward direction over the northwestern Caribbean Sea.

While it has 0% of development during the next 48 hours, it has a 30% probability of development within the next five days.

Additionally, there is another broad low-pressure system over the eastern Atlantic. The system is located more than 700 miles from the Cabo Verdes Islands. It also has possibilities for gradual development said the NHC.
