Who lured David Castillo to his death and why?

Posted: Monday, August 23, 2021. 10:52 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The discovery of the remains of David Castillo, 32, along Mile 4 on the George Price Highway Sunday morning brings to an end, however cruelly, a family’s search for their loved one.

But as expressed by Police, finding out what happened to him, why, and who did it may take some time longer.

Assistant Superintendent of Police and Communications Director for the Department, Fitzroy Yearwood said at a briefing today: “Mr. Castillo’s family had been looking for him for the past two weeks tirelessly. So, one, finding the body brings part closure to them. Now to determine what happened to him is where our investigators will come in. We were initially informed by the family that he received a phone call on the night that he disappeared and since then they hadn’t heard from him.”

Castillo, had been shot and his body dumped along the highway not far from the Department’s own vehicular checkpoint. He disappeared on August 12 after 8 p.m. when he had gone out to buy supper after receiving a phone call. He had not reported any issues with anyone and so police investigations, which continue, are searching out leads as to who lured Castillo to death, and why.
