Chamber of Commerce invites construction companies to learn about climate resilience

Posted: Thursday, August 26, 2021. 4:42 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: In August and September, the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is inviting construction service providers and personnel to participate in training about the application of climate resilience in the sector.

The Chamber has partnered with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Lab in a project known as “Project Proadapt Belize- Increasing Climate Resilience and other Business Opportunities.” This project is focused on increasing resilience within the sector and targets project site engineers, contractors, builders, foremen, and tradespersons in the construction sector.

The Service Provider program will introduce and reinforce the fundamentals of climate change and construction technology and build capacity among construction crew members. Trainees will improve human resources in being better informed of recent technologies in both mitigation and adaptation actions, in order to better promote climate-resilient advising, planning, and building.

The training session is free and will be held virtually from August 30 to September 17. Contact the Chamber of Commerce by email at [email protected] or [email protected]; or contact the Project Coordinator directly by Whatsapp at 613-7124 for more information or sign up here: https://forms.gle/rYZEYX9ctxosUWW2A.
